  1. Why should I purchase now? It seems like a waste of money if I am healthy and don't need to go to a doctor.

    #1. Accidents and unexpected illnesses can happen at any time. What will you do if your appendix suddenly bursts? Or some drunken sinner runs a red light and plows right into you? Hospitals and surgeons don't come cheap. #2. To avoid the tax penalty for not having creditable coverage. ($695 annual minimum per adult, $347.50 annual minimum per child under age 18)
  2. I don't think I can afford insurance. Maybe I'll just wait to see what happens. How expensive can it be to visit a doctor?

    Typically "No." Most people will run free quotes, apply online, and no one will contact them. Some will have an agent follow up to help. A very small percentage could possibly have more than one agent who assists.
  6. Am I guaranteed to receive a policy?

    If you're age 18 or older, complete and submit the application online, answer the questions honestly, and your form of payment is valid, you will most likely receive coverage because pre-existing health conditions, hazardous jobs, and dangerous hobbies are accepted.
  7. How long does it take to find out if I am approved for coverage?

    ?

    It could be from 1 to 7 days. Check your email folders. If you feel it has been "too long", then please contact us with your name, email, phone, which company, and the date you applied.
  8. Are the prices on this site guaranteed?

    ?

    After you enter specific search criteria (zip code, date of birth, etc.) you will be provided with the most current prices for for that specific type of individual. Prices quoted are the lowest possible for that particular plan at the time of the quote. If you wait to sign up, prices could change.
  9. What if I am turned down for coverage?

    ?

    The 2017-18 Guaranteed Issue PPACA plans are designed to accept everyone who applies during Open Enrollment, so if you are turned down, you should receive a letter from the insurance company stating why. Please contact us as well.
  10. What if I am unhappy with my plan?

    ?

    Although you can cancel your plan at any time, try to select a plan that fits your needs, or possible needs, and your budget for at least one year. You can always apply for another plan with the same or different company. Short Term = apply anytime. Long Term = apply during Open Enrollment Period (except under extenuating circumstances - see last FAQ below)
  11. Can you help me select a plan?

    If you have read and considered the info on the Health page, all FAQ on this page, watched all the Videos, carefully read the Terminology, know how much you can budget, yet still can not select a plan, then feel free to Contact Us for assistance if you will take the time to sign up online through InsureMyParts.com when an agents calls.
  12. Can I postpone coverage once I sign up?

    You select the start date. If it is too soon or too far in the future, the automated system will not allow it. If you have recently been approved, then call the insurance company's customer service dept. to find out if it is possible to adjust your start date.
  13. Can I choose a child only plan? or a family plan?

    ?

    Family Plans - Yes; Child only plans sometimes do not work with the automated system. Give it a try. If the company you choose does not allow it, then try another company or contact us for assistance.
  14. How long does it take to sign up online?

    ?

    Once you have decided upon a company and a plan, it takes just minutes to complete an individual application. You may be asked to create a new user profile with a password and user ID, after that it's just a matter of filling in the blanks.
  15. What information do I need to complete an application?

    ?

    Enrollee name, date of birth, address and phone number. Previous or current health insurance info. such as the company name, policy #, and date of enrollment. Primary Care Physician info of choice. Credit card and/or Bank account info. for the first month's premium as well as future EFTs. (Electronic Fund Transfers)
  16. What if I missed the Open Enrollment Period?

    {1} You can apply for regular long term health insurance during the next Open Enrollment Period Nov. 1, 2017 to Jan 31, 2018. {2} You can apply for short term health insurance - although it will not prevent the 2.5% household penalty on your annual income {3} Certain extenuating circumstances will allow you to apply for regular coverage between Open Enrollment periods
  17. What are the "Extenuating Circumstances" for enrollment?

    Renewal of a major medical plan, return from active military duty, release from incarceration, gain of citizenship, permanent move to a new state; loss of health coverage due to discontinuation of a current plan, loss of employment, loss of employer-covered insurance, legal seperation or divorce, death of parent/spouse; gaining or becoming a dependent due to marriage, birth or adoption of child, guardian or court order; change in dependent status as a result of turning 26
  18. Is it possible to be exempt from the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare?

    Yes indeed, there are a number of ways. You can be incarcerated, earn too little money to pay taxes, or the lowest cost metallic plan available to you in your area is more than 8% of your household income, or you're part of a recognized religious group that eschews insurance. Or you can join a Health Care Sharing Ministry that provides you with legal exemption status.
